Judging a print on a garment

What to look at when a graphic is printed on a garment: where it sits, how large it is and how it reads against the colour.

Placement changes the balance

Start with the area you want the artwork to occupy. A central chest graphic reads differently from a small mark near a pocket or a larger back print. Compare the artwork with the neckline, seams and hem rather than judging it in isolation. The placement tool above lets you explore those proportions before describing what you like.

Ask for the dimensions that matter

For a specific garment, ask for the printed width and height, the garment colour and a view of the full piece. A close crop can show detail but hide the overall scale. Save the study that interests you and include its name in an enquiry, together with the garment and placement you have in mind.
