01

Separate fabric, shape and construction

Composition describes the fibres. Fabric weight describes one aspect of the material, while the cut describes the shape of the garment. These details answer different questions. A photograph can help you understand the silhouette, but it cannot establish the fibre percentages, exact weight or feel of a specific product. Ask for the written specification when those details affect your choice.

02

Compare a familiar piece

Choose a garment you already like and note its shoulder position, chest width, body length and sleeve shape. That gives you a useful point of reference when reading another listing. Check which measurements are flat garment dimensions and which are body measurements. Use the measuring guide and fit checker together, then ask about any specification that remains unclear.
